Refreshing, Great staging, Exquisite, Enchanting

See it if you want to see a brilliantly choreographed, spellbinding, funny and excellently sung show. It ticked all the right boxes for me!

Don't see it if you’re not a fan of dance heavy shows or old fashioned musicals. I personally think Gershwin is timeless but it’s not for everyone. Read more

Old school big musical, Fabulous choreographer, Great dancing, Entertaining, Enchanting

See it if you want to enjoy an old school musical done well with fabulous choreography, great humour, clever staging and panache.

Don't see it if you will be bothered by the slightly predictable story or the gendered roles. This is of its time and should be enjoyed as such. Read more

Musical theater magic, Stupendous dancing, A true joy

See it if you love that miracle that happens when a timeless Gershwin musical meets the world's top director & choreographer (Stroman) & a strong cast

Don't see it if you have something against classic musicals. Yes book is naive, silly and dated, but who cares with such joyous infectious dancing & singing

Wonderful choreography, Great staging, Great singing, Great acting, Delightful

See it if you want a truly entertaining evening at a fun, old-fashioned musical featuring old standards, a silly plot and wonderful dance numbers.

Don't see it if you don't like musical comedy. That's the only reason I can think of as it is a real delight. Stemp is a charming lead & great dancer. Read more

“The show has a delirious weightlessness: for 150 minutes, you’re lifted out of care, and logic.”

The Guardian (UK)

"It is a divine production that leaves us giddy, capturing the stock romance between the central couple but also the soaring romance of theatre, with its stars and sawdust allure. If there is one fluffy summer musical to watch, let this be your guilty pleasure."

The Telegraph (UK)

“ Stemp busts a gut doing what he does best: delivering winning smiles, soulful singing and immaculate footwork, turning on a sixpence between the graceful and the goonish...he’s worth the price of admission alone. But the whole ensemble are a sight, and a joy, to behold too. Go.”

“The whole evening is full of joy...As for the chorus, each and every one of them is superb, making an impact through through their ability to make every moment of Stroman’s dancing magic pure, irresistible fun.”

The Arts Desk
July 5th, 2023

“The plot was and remains featherweight, though there are visual and textual nods...But the reason for being for this production is Stroman's stagecraft, allied to possibly the best actor-dancer she has been lucky enough to work with.”

London Theatre
July 4th, 2023

“Susan Stroman's ‘Crazy For You’ is pure musical theatre heaven...Beowulf Boritt’s sets, William Ivey Long’s costumes and Ken Billington’s lighting are all swoon-worthy: it feels like tumbling into a Golden Age MGM musical. Even the curtain call is a triumph. Five stars just isn’t enough – I wish I could give it ten.”

“It’s ludicrous. It’s lavish. And finally the romantic-comical shenanigans set to some of the greatest hits of George and Ira Gershwin is resistance-is-futile lovely too.”
