Set in a post-apocalyptic world, Orpheus, a talented musician, embarks on a perilous journey to Hadestown - the underworld - to rescue his soulmate Eurydice, who had followed Hades to Hadestown after being overcome by hunger & the cold on Earth. As Orpheus faces numerous challenges, Hades and Persephone's troubled relationship also unfolds.
'Hadestown' explores themes of love, sacrifice, and the power of music, as the characters navigate a dystopian landscape and confront the choices that shape their destinies.
'Hadestown' returns to London after its European Premiere at the National Theatre in 2018. The show went on to transfer to Broadway, where it received 8 Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
