Two young lovers meet at a party; tragedy unfolds under Robert Icke’s direction.
In Verona, during the height of summer, two young people, Romeo and Juliet, meet at a party. Their immediate attraction sets off a chain of events that ultimately leads to tragedy, exploring themes of love, innocence, grief, and revenge within their feuding families.
The production stars Sadie Sink (Stranger Things) as Juliet and Noah Jupe (A Quiet Place, Hamnet) as Romeo, both making their West End debuts. The production is directed by Robert Icke, known for his work on Oedipus, bringing a contemporary lens to Shakespeare’s timeless narrative.
This staging of Romeo & Juliet runs at the Harold Pinter Theatre for a strictly limited season from 16 March to 6 June 2026. The production includes age guidance recommending 10+, with themes of grief and revenge and some descriptions of violence.
