About the Show

Olivier Award-winning director John Caird helms this adaptation of Studio Ghibli’s Oscar-winning movie.

Chihiro is a young girl who gets trapped in a mysterious otherworldly realm. When her parents are transformed into pigs after indulging in forbidden food, Chihiro must navigate a bathhouse for spirits and gods to free her parents from the curse. As she works to find her way home, she encounters a myriad of eccentric and menacing creatures. Her bravery, resilience, and resourcefulness shine as she confronts these challenges and forms unlikely friendships along the way.

Following a sell-out tour of Japan in 2022, Olivier and Tony award-winning director John Caird ('Les Misérables') brings the theatrical adaptation of Hayao Miyazaki's beloved Studio Ghibli movie to the London stage.

Original cast members Kanna Hashimoto and Mone Kamishiraishi return to this production, alternating in the role of Chihiro.

N.B. This production will be performed in Japanese with English surtitles and is recommended for ages 7+.
