A quiet first date in Manhattan unfolds into a revealing study of intimacy.

Set in a one-bedroom Manhattan apartment, the play begins with two co-workers meeting for a first date. What starts as polite conversation gradually deepens into a vulnerable exchange as the pair reveal fragments of their lives, exposing loneliness, guarded hopes, and the fragile possibility of connection. The confined setting heightens the emotional stakes as attraction and uncertainty coexist in real time.

Written by Tom Noonan, the work is an intimate chamber piece examining how people navigate trust, disclosure, and the fear of being seen. The play also served as the basis for a 1994 film adaptation that received the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival, and this production marks its first major New York revival.
