Beginning with Rent in the mid-1990s, theatres have sold discounted Rush tickets to Broadway theatregoers. While there are restrictions and you have to be willing to wait until the day of the performance to buy them, the reward of cheap tickets can’t be beat!

What are rush tickets?

Rush tickets are tickets that are typically sold on the morning of the performance at a fraction of their usual cost. You'll have to visit the theatre box office in-person, or join a virtual rush queue online to purchase them. The name of the game with rush tickets is speed. They are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. The locations of the seats are provided at the box office's discretion, but they're usually clear-view seats that are great value for the money.

Here're a few pointers on how to get your hands on digital rush tickets:

  • You'll need to log-on to the ticket seller's rush page on the morning of the performance date and grab available tickets before anyone else. We recommend logging on to the rush page a few minutes before tickets go on-sale so you're ready to go!
  • You'll need to be quick! Only a limited number of rush tickets will be made available per performance, and once they're gone, they're gone!
  • Be sure to check the maximum number of tickets available to purchase - most shows only allow you to buy 2 rush tickets per customer.
  • If you're lucky enough to grab rush tickets, you will need to check-out within the allotted check-out time to secure them. Otherwise, they will be redistributed to another person in the queue.
  • Be sure you're selecting tickets for the right show title, date & time - especially on days where there are matinee (afternoon) and evening performances! Vendors usually cannot exchange or refund rush tickets once they have been purchased.
